Barrhaven Run for Roger Neilson House to merge with Manotick Miler
May 6 event to create unique experience for participants and raise funds for Roger Neilson House.
OTTAWA – The Ottawa Senators Foundation (@sensfoundation) announced today the merger between the Barrhaven Run for Roger Neilson House and the annual Manotick Miler.
Both events held each spring, raise significant funds for important causes in our community. Barrhaven Run’s strong family and fundraising culture combined with the Manotick Miler’s growing participant base will create an improved experience for all participants while aiming to increase the awareness and funds raised for Roger Neilson House.
Benefits include:
- New course and race options – The new location will provide a new running course, which will include, 10, 5, 3 and 1 mile routes.
- Prizes
- Every registered participant will receive a Finisher Medal at the end of the finish line.
- Top Male & Female in the 10 Miler will receive a cash award of $300.00.
- Top Male & Female in the 5 Miler & 3 Miler will also receive an award.
- Bigger contribution – By combining the two events and increasing registration numbers, more funds will be directed to Roger Neilson House.

Started in 2008 by a small group of Barrhaven business owners, the Barrhaven Run was an annual charity running event held annually in the community of Barrhaven. Roger Neilson House, was selected as the charity of choice and over the past 10 years, the Barrhaven Run for Roger Neilson House raised more than $300,000 for the pediatric palliative care facility.
