Virtual Parent Support Group will continue to take place on a bi-weekly basis. This group is open to all families who have a child currently involved with the CHEO Palliative Care Team and/or Roger Neilson House.

Special Guest:Jeff Vidt (CHEO Spiritual Support Worker)
Topic: Making Sense in Senseless Times

When you receive a life-altering diagnosis, either for yourself or your loved one, it’s a trauma that makes you go on autopilot. In the mix of treatments, therapies, appointments, and everything else needing done, there’s often little time set aside to try to make sense of what’s happening. It can even feel like there’s no sense to be made, just a lot of pain and suffering.

This presentation is for those who want to try to integrate their experiences of trauma with their sense of meaning. Meaning and purpose can help us respond to suffering in ways that promote hope and healing. The pain won’t stop being pain, but learning ways to grow from the experience can help us find hope again.”

By RSVP’ing to this group you are providing your consent to participate in a Virtual Support Group through Zoom. The group provides a safe space for parents to share their thoughts, emotions and coping strategies, as well as an opportunity to connect and develop relationships with other parents throughout their child’s illness.
