Date(s) - August 10, 2022
5:00 pm - 6:30 pm
As of June 2021 PALS will be offered virtually by zoom on SECOND Wednesday of the month . This is an RSVP event, and interested parents will be provided with the link when they RSVP. *NEW* RSVPs must be received by noon the day prior to the event. You will then receive 2 separate emails – one to confirm the event is going ahead and a separate one with the zoom information to attend.
The Palliative Care team is committed to providing on-going bereavement support to families following the loss of their child. The development of the PALS group was research based and informed by focus groups involving families who experienced a perinatal loss. It was identified that many families who experience the death of a child do go on and plan for more children. There is growing evidence that these families would benefit from increased emotional support during future pregnancies, and be surrounded by other families who understand that during subsequent pregnancies, it is possible to be anxious, happy and sad all at the same time!
Criteria for group: RNH will be offering an open, monthly group for families who 1) have already accessed RNH services and 2) are currently pregnant and struggling emotionally. Topics that will be explored include managing guilt, impact on relationships, managing the expectations of others, etc.
By RSVP’ing to this group you are providing your consent to participate in a Virtual Support Group through Zoom. While protection measures are in place, such as a locked group setting, password protection and unique links weekly, this group is over the internet, therefore there are risks associated. Please consider this prior to RSVP’ing to group.
Please contact a RNH social worker if you have any questions about participating in Virtual Support Group.
Unique links will be emailed if you have RSVP’d prior to group. You are consenting and agreeing that you are the explicit user of this link. The links are, under no circumstances, to be shared.
